The United Arab Emirates will simulate a planned Mars manned mission in the metaverse

The UAE will try out its planned manned mission to Mars in the metaverse. The Middle Eastern country has a plan to send people to Mars in 2117, but they want to make the trip as real as possible 95 years before that date.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) will work with Web3 pioneer Bedu to create a one-of-a-kind metaverse experience that will let people touch and feel Mars 95 years before the mission takes off.

An announcement made on Monday said that the project also wants to show how hard it is to live on another planet.

Adnan Al Rais, Mars 2117 programme manager at the MBRSC, commented on the project, saying, “As we set our sights on ever more challenging destinations for exploration with humans and robots, innovative ideas and future thinking will be critical to helping us reach new milestones.” MBRSC will back ideas like these because we think they will help us see bigger possibilities.”

The UAE was one of the first places to use the metaverse and web3. This year, Dubai announced a metaverse strategy with several parts that could create more than 40,000 jobs for the city.

Another of the country’s top cities, Ajman, started a virtual police service in June to help the public by letting them talk to officer avatars. At the same time, Majid Al Futtaim, one of the country’s largest mall operators, launched its web3 strategy in partnership with Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain investment company.

But the UAE wants to go even further into space with its latest metaverse project

The MBRSC will put together a group that will work closely with the Bedu. The committee will give advice and share data and information about space and Mars, among other things.

Bedu will use its knowledge to teach MBRSC about web3 and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which have been very important in getting people to use the metaverse faster.

CEO of Bedu Amin Al Zarouni said, “The UAE is known throughout the world as a pioneer. As it takes its place as a frontrunner in the race to put the first humans on another world, we congratulate Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre for its recent successes and the bold scope of its planned future endeavours.”
