This Ukrainian Supermarket Decided To Accept Crypto Through Binance Pay

Binance has recently announced that VARUS, a Ukrainian supermarket chain, will now accept crypto. It announced that it had recently partnered with the supermarket chain, and now that will facilitate crypto payments for customers buying groceries.

This transaction would take place through Binance Pay Wallet. VARUS happens to be one of the largest grocery store companies in Ukraine.

There are a total of 111 stories in 28 different cities within the country.

VARUS believes that this partnership will now let the customers gain access to crypto payments, which could make delivery seamless and quicker.

This feature of digital asset payment has now been made available in 9 cities, which are Kyiv, Dnipro, Kamianske, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Brovary, Nikopol, Vyshhorod, and Pavlograd.

Customers who would like to pay through digital asset will need to download and install the Binance app on their Android and iOS devices.

After the completion of this step, users will be required to go to VARUS website and select the products they wish to purchase.

Once selection is over, customers can directly pay with digital money from their Binance Pay Wallet.

Ukrainian Customers Have Option To Pay With Crypto On Many Websistes Now

A report also stated that earlier this year, the Binance Pay service was integrated by Foxtrot, which is the Ukrainian chain of stores for home appliances and electronics.

Whitepay, a crypto payment platform, also recently introduced digital asset payments for the products that were offered by Ukrainian tech stores just last month.

Retailers such as Tehnoezh and Stylus are now offering their services to customers by providing a payment platform that is operated by Whitebit, a European exchange based out of Ukraine.

Ukraine, especially over the last few years, has turned out to be a regional leader when it comes to adopting crypto. The nation has also made efforts in the direction of regulating the industry in a better way.

Humanitarian Efforts Through Crypto Donations In Ukraine

Ukraine has been devastated by war, and cryptocurrency, in particular, has made its way through to assist those in need.

Both the government in Kyiv along with volunteer groups have been working to raise funds through crypto donations in order to fund defence and humanitarian initiatives.

The crypto community has been active and has stepped in to help and provide necessary assistance to Ukraine.

Binance has also issued a cryptocard specifically made for the Ukrainian refugees.

This year’s Kyiv Tech Summit, which was hosted between September 6 and September 9 in Ukraine, was attended by Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin. He mentioned that “Ukraine could well become the next Web3 hub”.

Additionally, he stated,

A country can become a Web3 hub if its citizens are actively interested in this technology and decide to make a major contribution to its development. Ukraine has both the capabilities and the determination to do this.
