Yuga Labs Announce A Cryptopunks Newsletter

Yuga Labs, the heads of Bored Ape Yacht Club and Cryptopunks have confirmed the first Cryptopunks NFT grant to support the creation of a Cryptopunks newsletter, titled ‘Punks Post’. It is set to capture important events and promote various networking opportunities for fans of the collection.

The two writers of the Cryptopunks newsletter, Punks Post.

The Cryptopunks Newsletter

Yuga Labs announced the newsletter start on their official Twitter page last night. To clarify, the parent company of Cryptopunks are awarding two community members, @ricgalbraith and @lorepunkdoteth a grant in order to create and maintain a Cryptopunks-focused newsletter, Punks Post.

Though it is the first time a Cryptopunks grant has been awarded to community members, it is not the first from Yuga Labs. They first grew in popularity through Bored Ape Yacht Club before buying the Cryptopunks and Meebits IP. They noted that one of the first recipients of a grant, @jenkinsthevalet has created a thriving community in their own right.

The company will publish more grant opportunities in the future on their various subsidiary collection’s Twitter pages. They warned users to only follow guidance from their official brand pages.

Who are the Grant Awardees

The grant awardees, who are to run the Cryptopunks newsletter, were publically named by Yuga Labs as @ricgalbraith and @lorepunkdoteth.

Ric Galbraith is a writer based in Manchester, United Kingdom. He has written for Issue #01 of PunksComic, and the project, Shroomheads. Beyond this, they created ‘Tales from the Glitch’ and ‘Punk Fiction’. He initially studied journalism at 18 years old. Now 20 years later has become a “full-time degen” over the past year and a half. Galbraith said this was continuing on his “gonzo route” career. He also mentioned that this space has changed his life. Everything he’s done over the past 20 years has led him to the NFT/web3 world.

Lorepunk on the other hand is from Plymouth, United Kingdom. She has done work for Forgotten Runes and Nouns DAO amongst others. Although she provided fewer details about her writing career so far, she is clearly a fan of the Cryptopunks NFT collection. She referred to her Cryptopunk #6825 as her best purchase ever.
